We’re proud to share a brand that has long championed safer, more transparent choices for women. Founded by Susie Hewson, who was honoured with an MBE for her services to women’s health and the environment, Natracare has spent decades challenging conventional norms in period care and advocating for better standards in women’s wellbeing.
Built for Women, By Women
Founded on the belief that women deserve better, Natracare has led the shift toward more conscious menstrual products long before this became a mainstream conversation.
“When I founded Natracare back in 1989, I was a lone campaigning voice. But in designing and manufacturing organic and sustainable period products, I have, over these past three decades, been vindicated for challenging the industry and making period products both better for the environment and for human health.”
Natracare’s certified organic cotton tampons first arrived in New Zealand in 1992 and have remained a trusted choice in natural and organic stores ever since.

Natracare tampons are made from 100% certified organic cotton, free from plastics, chlorine, dyes, fragrances, and unnecessary synthetic additives. Transparency and precautionary testing have always been central to the brand’s philosophy.
“As a precautionary principle, Natracare products undergo regular third-party laboratory testing. Our organic cotton tampons show no detectable traces of heavy metals or chemicals of concern, with results publicly available for full transparency.”
For You, For the Planet
Designed with environmental responsibility in mind, Natracare pads and liners are certified compostable, reflecting a simple idea: supporting women’s wellbeing should never come at the planet’s expense.
“No other brand but Natracare is designed to be bio-recyclable. When successfully composted, nothing but biomass, carbon dioxide and water is left behind. Natracare pads and pantyliners carry the TÜV Seedling mark as certified Compostable Industrial.”
