Ceres Organics and little bird organics share a rich history, rooted in a long-standing partnership that has helped shape both brands. Ceres Organics founder Noel was a pioneer in the organic movement, and the parents of little bird founder Megan, played a key role as founding members of BioGro.
Little Bird’s journey began when Megan showcased her raw food creations at a seminar by American raw food pioneer David Wolfe. Her products quickly sold out, catching the attention of Ceres Organics. Impressed by her work, the tea at Ceres Organics encouraged Megan to make her products available for wider distribution.
From that pivotal moment, little bird organics was born, with Ceres Organics becoming one of its first major wholesale customers and long-time partner, playing a crucial role in their shared mission to promote organic living.
About little bird organics
Megan grew up surrounded by New Zealand’s pioneering organic movement, at a time when organics were still gaining momentum. As a child, she struggled with allergies, compounded by limited food options, this experience then sparked a passion for food that would later shape her career.
As an aspiring environmental scientist and then a wholefoods chef in her 20s, Megan’s health challenges and desire to make a meaningful impact led her to reimagine gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free foods. She wanted to create meals that were not only delicious, vibrant, and nourishing but also thoughtfully sourced, proving that healthy food can be just as flavourful as it is good for you and the planet.
With this vision little bird organics was founded and their first product, the Good Macaroon, remains a staple - the recipe and process unchanged after 15 years. Together with her husband, Jeremy, Megan has created a brand that celebrates the restorative power of organic, nutrient-rich foods.

By soaking nuts, seeds, and grains to initiate germination, they make them easier to digest and unlock their full nutritional potential. Dehydration then gently removes moisture at low temperatures, ensuring that nutrients remain intact, leaving their products raw, nutrient-dense, and packed with natural goodness.
To maintain freshness and quality, little bird make everything by hand from scratch, avoiding refined, pasteurised, pressurized, or heat-treated processes. This results in pure, wholesome, and delicious products.
