What makes your tea range organic?
Our teas are Bio-gro (New Zealand’s national certification body) certified, just like all of our Ceres Organics products!
Only ingredients that meet the strict criteria can be re-certified so you can have every confidence in the authenticity.
Where are the ingredients sourced?
Our teas are packed and blended in UK but ingredients are sourced from around the world where they grow best.
We are proud to support mutually-beneficial relationships with suppliers who are producing high quality ingredients through progressive organic farming principles and a strong commitment to fair and ethical sourcing policies.
How long should I brew the teas for?
Brew time is indicated on both the sachet and the pack. Herbal teas do not “stew” like black or green tea, having an infinite brew time, so can be brewed for as long as you like, in fact, many herbal tea drinkers even leave the bag in the cup. As a general rule, we recommend a minimum of 5 minutes up to 15 minutes for herbal teas.
Black tea needs to be brewed for at least 3 minutes, ideally 6 minutes – that is how long tasters globally brew black tea for as it’s the sweet spot to unlock the potential of the blend without it starting to “stew”. That said, it’s personal. Brew up to 10 minutes to your desired strength.
Green tea needs immersion for only 2-3 minutes for the best brew result. Anything longer can result in bitterness and detract from the tea blend.
Is your tea range vegan?
All of our teas are free from animal products.
Is your tea range gluten free?
Whilst not tested for gluten, our teas do not have any gluten-containing ingredients.
How should I store my tea?
Tea is best kept in an air-tight container away from light and heat sources. Our teas are individually-wrapped and this prolongs the integrity of the tea inside, protecting it from any cross-contamination during its life cycle. Our teas are best consumed within three years (see the date on sachet or pack).
Why do your tea bags have sachets?
Our premium organic teas come in sachet/envelope to lock in the freshness and protect the high essential oil content of the herbs. The tea is protected from air and moisture which degrades the herbs and also prevent any cross-contamination of flavour or odour when stored with other teas.
Is your packaging recyclable?
Our tea bags are TUV-certified home-compostable.Our sachet is technically recyclable, but being smaller than 10x14cm, in Australia and New Zealand, it is unlikely it will be recycled if you put it into the kerbside paper recycling.
We therefore recommend you dispose of it in your general waste bin. We are always seeking to bring you better packaging alternatives where possible so watch this space! Our box and shipper can be disposed of in kerbside cardboard recycling.
